What will be the practical use of this new financial windfall, presented as a the largest private sector capital investment in transport infrastructure in the UK ? London Heathrow's management has defined a number of key priorities. In particular, there is a strong emphasis on decarbonation of the airport, although the details of this remain rather vague. The investment will also increase the capacity of all Heathrow terminals, including baggage delivery, and improve the punctuality of departures and arrivals at the London hub. In the words of airport management, "the investment programme will improve service, resilience, passenger experience and sustainability for all Heathrow passengers".
