Hilton strengthens its position in Lyon

As part of a franchise agreement with the Arteloge group, Hilton is to offer four new hotels in Lyon, including three under its new Spark by Hilton premium economy brand.

Hilton is strengthening its offering in Lyon with the announced arrival of four new hotels under a franchise agreement with Lyon-based Arteloge Hôtels & Restaurants, owner of one of Lyon's iconic five-star hotels, the Villa Florentine. This partnership will enable the appearance in France of one of Hilton's latest brands, SparkThe hotel is positioned at the top end of the budget segment, with a concept built around functional, contemporary rooms and modern communal areas, ideal for both relaxation and work.

Launched in the United States in 2023, this brand has opened or is planning to open some 150 hotels in its home country and has begun to extending its horizons to Europe last year. Present in London and Vienna with two hotels, Spark will be appearing in the coming weeks in Stuttgart and Pobierowo in Poland. And soon in Lyon, with three three-star establishments to be added to its offer in the coming months.

Both located in the IXe arrondissement, near the Vaise business district and the banks of the Saône, the Lyon-Ouest and ParkSaône hotels will be rebranded as Spark by Hilton. at the end of the yearThe ParkEst hotel will wait until summer 2026 to become the Spark by Hilton Lyon Eurexpo.

This latest hotel, located in Génas, right next to Lyon's exhibition centre and easily accessible from the airport, offers 106 rooms, a bar-restaurant and a wellness area. favourable situation for business travelThe Spark by Hilton Lyon Ouest and Spark by Hilton Lyon Park Saône offer 165 m² of seminar space in three meeting rooms. The future Spark by Hilton Lyon Ouest and Spark by Hilton Lyon Park Saône offer 102 and 100 rooms respectively, as well as three meeting rooms for the former and even more for the latter. The Spark by Hilton Lyon Park Saône will offer 500 m² for business events, with four rooms that can accommodate up to 200 people for cocktails and 150 in theatre format.

While the Hilton group is currently represented in Lyon by a top-of-the-range hotel DoubleTreeThis brand, which will open in 2022 near Lyon Eurexpo, will see the arrival of a new establishment as part of the agreement with Arteloge, with the conversion of the Lyon Métropole hotel. This rebranding will result in the closure of the four-star establishment for a year of works, with reopening scheduled for 2028.

Located on the banks of the Saône, in the fourth arrondissement of Parise Located in the heart of the Lyon district, the hotel will cater for short and long stays, with 118 rooms and 56 studios and flats. Neighbouring the Spa Lyon Plage, one of the largest urban spas in France and owned by Arteloge, the future DoubleTree by Hilton Lyon Plage will nevertheless have a very different feel to it. a strong business dimension with, in addition to a restaurant and bar, 12 fully-equipped conference rooms. The Arteloge group expects to open a four-star hotel residence with spa in Génas next year, which could also feature one of Hilton's long-stay brands.
