The model Airbnb is no stranger to hotel groups. Marriott has tackled this issue with the launch in 2019 of its Homes & Villasthen Apartments by Marriott Bonvoy at the end of last year. In the same way, Accor had set out toalternative accommodation in 2016 by acquiring Onefinestaya leading player in the rental of top-of-the-range private flats. In addition to this, the French group has grouped together in a new website - Apartments & Villas - its entire range of accommodation for long stays, including flat rentals, aparthotels and hotel suites.

Hyatt joins these competitors with the announcement of a new offer to rent private houses and flats: Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt. Due to be launched in the next few weeks in the United States, this rental platform will offer members of the loyalty programme a collection of top-of-the-range holiday resorts by the sea or at the foot of the slopes, chalets and private homes, notably in Hawaii, Aspen or Vail in Colorado. Hyatt customers will be able to earn or redeem points through these bookings.

Home sweet home for work from anywhere

While the Homes & Hideaways offering has an obvious leisure focus, the hotel group also mentions the rental of flats, penthouses and townhouses. In addition, Hyatt intends to develop this new platform on a global scale. " We are committed to giving our members access to the accommodation they are looking for over and above our hotels, whether it's a large family travelling together or professionals who want to stay in one of our hotels. work wherever they like over a long period" said Amy Weinberg, Senior Vice President, Brand and Loyalty, Hyatt.

To launch this new offer, Hyatt will be relying on a partner responsible for the property management of these rentals in order to guarantee a quality service and experience: CoralTree, a subsidiary of property investor Lowe. Lowe is no stranger to Hyatt, having sold it the Two Roads Hospitality group in 2018. In the basket are the Thompson, Joie de Vivre and Ailla brands, as well as holiday homes. These are the very properties that, now back in the Lowe fold, will form the original basis of the Homes & Hideaways by World of Hyatt platform.
