The biggest price rises were in Tours and Nice in France, and Barcelona and Oslo in the rest of Europe. Compared with May 2009, rates remained stable at an average of €120, according to the Trivago Hotel Price Index (THPI), a barometer of hotel rates published by the hotel price comparison service www.trivago.fr.
Hotel rates continue to rise in May
In Europe's major cities, the average price of overnight stays rose by 5 % in May compared with April, confirming the upward trend observed since last March.
