The new Hoxton hotel has just opened in Edinburgh. Located in the West End, the establishment brings together a group of 11 Georgian-style houses on both sides of Grosvenor Street. This originality translates into a proposal for several self-contained three-bedroom, three-bathroom houses, the Hoxton Houses, ideal for employees travelling in groups, for example. Alongside the 150 rooms housed in the main building, totalling 214 keys divided into nine categories. Their design is inspired by Georgian architecture, with original features preserved, such as cornices, double-height ceilings and sash windows, present in many rooms.
With a mural by Verity Woolley at the entrance, a Hox Gallery showcasing emerging local artists, and vintage furniture, Hoxton Edinburgh embodies the lifestyle spirit of the brand integrated into Ennismorethe Accor group's arm in its expansion into contemporary hotels. Similarly, in its lobby, the hotel offers a lively bar which lends itself to remote working during the day, before turning to cocktails and whisky tastings in the evening. As for catering, it is Italian-inspired - but using local produce - with the Patatino trattoria. At the side of the hall, an intimate five-seat screening room shows a programme selected by Cinetopia's local film buffs.
Unless 10 minutes' walk from the EICC conference centre and around fifteen minutes from Princes Street, the Scottish capital's key thoroughfare, the establishment is also almost next door to Haymarket station. A convenient location for business travellers, especially as the Hoxton Edinburgh offers a wide choice of meeting and event venues.
Le MICE concept The Apartment, as always, is organised around a communal lounge with a kitchen that can be transformed into a bar in the evening. The 213m² space is divided into four private rooms that can be hired individually or collectively to host all kinds of events, from presentations to company parties, press days and private dinners.
But this first Hoxton in Scotland adds to that a vast event spaceThe Get Together ballroom. Covering an area of 300 m², it has its own private bar and a stage for live music concerts. The space can be divided in two and can accommodate up to 250 guests in total.
