The study published on 27 September by HRS and EPSA compares the feedback from 284 people in charge of travel budgets and 631 travellers and travel assistants. In particular, it highlights that, apart from the large CAC 40 companies, which enjoy good visibility, 15% of those questioned do not know their hotel volume. This is logical, given the way business travel is managed within companies. The report points out that just 58% of companies with a turnover of less than 100 million euros have a clearly defined travel policy. In terms of booking tools, we note that OBT (Online Booking Tool) type tools - provided in 70% of cases by the agency - are present in most of the companies surveyed. OBT is even used almost unanimously (96%) by CAC 40 companies, while barely a third of those surveyed would use a central hotel agency. However, according to the EPSA-HRS study, a majority of respondents consider OBT to be the benchmark player for hotel optimisation in business travel, with HRS receiving the majority of votes.
