The study published by HRS is based on an analysis of some 250,000 establishments worldwide referenced by the hotel reservation platform. The conclusion seems quite logical: "the price of breakfast correlates with the price of the room". As a result, Singapore emerges as the most expensive business destination, with an average bill of €16.90. Switzerland (€16.05) and Belgium (€15.05) complete the podium, while France is in twelfth place with an average breakfast cost of €11.23. At the bottom of the table, Poland has the most modest bill (€6.40). "Paradoxically, a hotel charging €70 for a single room and €10 for breakfast will appear to be a better deal than one charging €75 including breakfast," notes Emmanuel Ebray, Director of HRS France. "True to our reputation for transparency, we systematically display the price of breakfast if it is not included in the room rate, as well as customer reviews on the quality of this service," adds Emmanuel Ebray.
