The Hyatt group is preparing to launch a new brand in Europe with the expected mid-year opening of the Thompson Madrid. This a brand with a luxury and lifestyle positioningacquired by the American hotelier as part of the Two Roads Hospitality takeover in 2018, has just over twenty hotels in the United States and Mexico and is beginning its international expansion through the spanish capital.
Located in the heart of Madrid, a few steps from Puerta del Sol and Gran Vía, the hotel's meticulous design and sophisticated ambience will offer business and leisure travellers 175 roomsMost have balconies or terraces with city views. These include 23 suites, including a two-storey penthouse.
In keeping with the lifestyle trend, Thompson Madrid will feature lively bars and restaurants designed in partnership with Grupo La Ancha, a restaurant group founded in the early 20th century and best known for its Fismuler restaurant in Madrid. The Thompson Madrid will feature three trendy places including a speak-easy bar and, above all, a bar and restaurant on the hotel's roof terrace. A rooftop with views, of course, but also with an outdoor swimming pool. An open-air courtyard will complete the hotel's offer, as will event spaces. The Thompson is the American group's third hotel in Madrid, joining the Hyatt Centric Gran Via and Hyatt Regency Hesperia already on offer in the Spanish capital.
