Iberia unveils its new logo

Iberia has just unveiled its new visual identity: the logo presented on Tuesday 15 October is intended to symbolise the transformation of the airline, which aims to be "strong, modern, competitive and forward-thinking". The makeover is due to begin by the end of November.

The new logo presented by Iberia on Tuesday will appear on Spanish tarmacs from the end of November, on the five new Airbus A330s which will then be added to the airline's fleet. Unsurprisingly, the red and yellow of the Spanish flag remain at the heart of this new visual identity, which gives pride of place to red, "the symbol of Spanish vitality, expressiveness, art and character". In all, some 9,000 people - airline employees and passengers - were consulted to develop this new look, which is supposed to embody Iberia's renewal. "It's not just a question of changing the company's logo, but of conveying this new image to every part of Iberia, so that the change is perceptible in all the products and services we offer our customers," stresses Luis Gallego, CEO of Iberia.
