
The IHG Group has announced the arrival of its luxury brand InterContinental à Rabatfollowing the signing of an agreement with Immohold Hospitality. The five-star hotel, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2022, will be located at in the heart of Morocco's capital. Ideal for both business and leisure travellers, the hotel will be perched in Rabat's diplomatic quarter, close to a number of embassies and government institutions. The InterContinental Rabat will feature 156 roomsThe hotel will also offer 950 m² of meeting space, an exclusive spa and extensive wellness facilities. There will be five dining options, ranging from authentic to contemporary.
Pascal Gauvin, IHG's Managing Director for India, Middle East and Africa, commented on the signing: " We are delighted to partner with Immohold Hospitality to announce the development of our first InterContinental hotel in Morocco. With a strong heritage in the MEA region spanning 60 years, we are delighted to continue to expand our luxury offering with the opening of the InterContinental Rabat in the heart of the Moroccan capital. "
This future opening is part of the strategy for developing the luxury offer of IHG in the Middle East and Africa, as the UK group aims to establish itself in the key markets of the MEA region. IHG currently operates 116 hotels in the region across seven brands, with a further 53 under development to open over the next three to five years.
