InterContinental sets up in Bordeaux

Under the Regent banner when it opened in 2007, the Grand Hôtel de Bordeaux is about to embark on a new life as an independent hotel and member of Leading Hotels of the World.

InterContinental, the luxury brand of the IHG group, has just signed an agreement with Financière Immobilière Bordelaise to take over the management of this prestigious establishment, located in the historic heart of the city, opposite the Grand Théâtre. Behind the neo-classical façade dating back to 1776, the décor designed by Jacques Garcia will undergo minor alterations to bring it up to InterContinental standards. The hotel's catering team will be led by Gordon Ramsay, who will oversee the gastronomic restaurant Le Pressoir d'Argent. On the business side, the 130-bedroom establishment also has seven meeting rooms, while for relaxation the hotel has an indoor swimming pool, fitness area, spa and hammam.

The InterContinental Bordeaux - Le Grand Hotel completes the French portfolio of the brand, which is already present in Paris with the InterContinental Paris - Le Grand and a boutique hotel on Avenue Marceau, in Cannes with the Carlton, in Marseille with the renovation of the Hotel-Dieu and soon in Lyon with the ongoing metamorphosis of the city's Hôtel-Dieu.
