How is Air Canada faring in France?
David Gégot - It promises to be a record year for Air Canada in France. With a change of appliance on the Paris-Toronto route, which has been operated by B787 since the beginning of 2015, then theincrease in capacity on the Paris-Montréal and Paris-Toronto routes from mid-June, we have established attendance records. This success is certainly also due to the economic recovery and an attractive Canadian dollar against the euro. Finally, we should mention the extension of our Privilege Economy Class on all our long-haul routes. This further strengthens our business positioning.
How are you approaching the French market with routes from Paris to Montreal and Toronto?
D. G. - Both routes are operated all year round, with additional capacity during the high season from Paris. Average fill is around 85 % throughout the year. We also operate summer flights to Nice with our subsidiary Air Canada Rouge. The most marked growth remains on the Montreal route, the destination on which we deploy the most capacity. Quebec remains a very attractive destination for French companies and students.
Air Canada will be landing in Lyon in 2016. Why this return?
D. G. - Air Canada's international expansion is one of the company's key priorities. four company priorities set by its CEO, Calin Rovinescu. This expansion had been slowed by the three-year delay in delivery of the Boeing 787s. Lyon has always been one of the priority cities for the airline's expansion. This route will enable us to be the only airline present on the France-North America route throughout the year. Right from the launch, we will be deploying a large-capacity devicethe Airbus A330.
