How did you organise your business trip to CES (Consumer Electric Show) in Las Vegas at the beginning of January?
Jean-François Pieri - First of all, I'd like to make it clear that we're a very small company and, as such, we don't work with a TMC or a specific travel agency. Particularly with the Covid crisis. I think that in the current context of uncertainty, a travel agency could even slow down the refund process of a plane ticket, with airlines and agencies often passing the buck! So I took care of all the formalities myself, consulting the French government which provides up-to-date information.
What was the most difficult part of this journey for you?
J.-F. - It was in fact the rules that are changing and forcing people to buy a ticket at the last minute, with all the constraints that this can imply in terms of the cost of the ticket or itineraries. There is an obstacle, I think, with information that is often poorly relayed: that of transit and arrival airports. their transfer conditionst. We have very little information from the airline about the covid formalities at the stopover and the logic of the transfer. This is a factor that will affect the choice of airline.
What did you find most complex once you were there?
J.-F. - Apart from the uncertainty of testing positive and having to isolate yourself, there is always the fear of a last-minute change in legislation in the country of arrival, as well as on return to France. The other slightly complex problem is the requirement for a PCR testThis is something to bear in mind when travelling on business. This is something to bear in mind when travelling on business. Because it means wasting time in a very tight schedule. In Las Vegas, I was mobilised by this. 3h30 to get me tested!
Have you taken out any special insurance to cover covid?
J.-F. - My insurance already covers hospitalisation in connection with the pandemic...
