GETTING THERE

Air France offers a daily direct service between Paris CDG and Lagos. Departing in the afternoon on the outbound leg and at night on the return leg, the 6.20-hour flight is operated by the A 330 three-class aircraft. Passengers loyal to the Air France-KLM group can also reach Lagos thanks to the daily service offered by the Dutch airline with a connection in Amsterdam. Alternatively, British Airways offers a daily service between London and Lagos. Lagos Murtala Muhammed airport, around ten kilometres from the city, offers non-stop flights to 41 African and international destinations. In addition to Air France, KLM and British Airways, Virgin, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, Turkish Airlines, Emirates and Royal Air Maroc operate flights to and from Lagos. No fewer than 136 domestic and 166 international flights depart from Murtala Muhammed airport every week.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

Official language : English.
Currency : the Nigerian ,aira (NGN). 1 euro = NGN 409 (March 2019).
Time difference : There is no time difference between France and Nigeria in winter; -1 hour in summer.
Formalities : French nationals need a valid passport and a visa to enter the country. You should apply for a visa at the Nigerian embassy in Paris. It takes two to three days to obtain a visa. The visa is valid for up to three months.

Compulsory vaccinations : Vaccination against yellow fever is compulsory. In addition to DT Polio, the authorities recommend vaccinations against meningococcal meningitis, typhoid fever and hepatitis A and B, and against rabies and typhoid for longer stays. Because malaria is transmitted throughout the country all year round, it is advisable to arrange preventive treatment with your GP.
