Launch of BizMeeting, the new MICE portal

The new BizMeeting solution has just completed the test period it began last January, and is now making its debut on the French MICE (Meetings, Incentive, Convention, Events) market.

With a catalogue of some 20,000 meeting venues referenced in France, the newcomer BizMeeting now presents itself as "the most comprehensive database on the market", and already boasts more than 80 companies and a dozen client agencies. What's more, the solution incorporates open data, enabling it to offer users more than 16,000 restaurants and almost 11,000 incentive activities in France.

Based in Aix-en-Provence, the new player displays contextualised search results, indicating transport information around establishments, as well as restaurants, incentive activities and museums. The booking platform, which has been trialled since the start of the year, aims to be a "multi-content marketplace" where the expectations of business meeting organisers and the offers of meeting venue operators meet virtually. In addition to its database, BizMeeting bases the appeal of its solution on a "drag & drop" method that spares users the need to draw up specifications by allowing them to use and customise the meeting formats predefined in the system.

In terms of pricing, BizMeeting has adopted a "Freemium" approach, with free access to booking solutions for users of the standard version, but a charge for access to expert features. The same logic applies to meeting venue operators, who are listed free of charge but can acquire greater visibility, quote requests, statistics and information about their competitors by paying a subscription fee. BizMeeting, which aims to become the "GDS for business meetings" in the coming years, is already planning new booking solutions for business meeting organisers, which will be announced at the end of 2014. Stay tuned.
