Centenary airport since 2014, Le Bourget was the main gateway to Paris until the early 1960s. This legendary venue has successfully conversion to a business airport to become the European leader in this niche. However, located just seven kilometres from Paris, Le Bourget is much more than a hub for private jets. It's a real a centre of excellence in aeronautics with around a hundred companies specialising in maintenance, equipment manufacturers and air service companies. And every two years, the airport hosts the world's leading aviation event, where aircraft manufacturers from all over the world gather.
On the business aviation side, Le Bourget is home to some fifteen private airlines and air taxi companies, including Air Corporate, Air Taxi & Charter International, AB Corporate Aviation, Global Jet Concept, Jet Services and Luxaviation. Together, these companies generated some 24,645 annual movements for a total of almost 130,000 passengers, confirming the hub's pre-eminence in Europe.
Manager of Le Bourget, Aéroports de Paris (ADP)continues to invest in the platform. Between now and the end of 2018 40 to 50 million euros which will be devoted to the installation of a new Embraer maintenance centre, an aviation training centre and the continuation of the move upmarket of the airport. For some years now, Le Bourget has wanted to be more than just an aviation centre. There is a art gallerya four-star hotel AC by Marriott since 2015 and a Kyriad Prestige hotel. The projects of the Greater Paris should also enable the platform to blend in better with its urban environment.
