Uncertainty forces Lufthansa to extend ticket flexibility

Since the end of August, all fares on Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Eurowings can be changed free of charge. Originally, this fare offer was valid for all changes to bookings until February.

Faced with the uncertainty created by the confinements and border closures, the German group Lufthansa extends ticket flexibility once again. All air fares continue to be can be modified free of charge. Passengers can use this solution as often as they like for any ticket issued up until 31 May 2021. The rebooking is valid for flights after May.

Last year, Lufthansa Group Airlines had already allowed its customers to change their tickets. The waiver on rebooking fees applies worldwide to all new bookings, regardless of fare on all flights, irrespective of distance. This allows all Lufthansa Group Airlines customers to plan their trips in a totally flexible way.

However, there are a number of reasons for this, additional costs may be charged when you make a new reservation. This is the case for if the initial booking class is no longer available. Lufthansa includes in this provision tickets issued until 31 August 2020. Especially as Germany should extend its semi-confinement regime until 14 March.
