Travellers on the Lufthansa network will soon benefit from enhanced connectivity. At the end of January, the German group announced its ambition for the long-haul network: to offer unlimited in-flight messaging from this summer. The service will include sending photos, and will apply to all classes of travel.

For Heiko Reitz, Chief Customer Officer at Lufthansa Airlines, "Being contactable even during a long flight has long been a fundamental need and a decisive factor in choosing an airline. Free text messaging and in-flight internet, for example, offer a very attractive portfolio of digital services for our customers".

Free connectivity has already been available since last year on Lufthansa short- and medium-haul flights and on many Austrian Airlines aircraft.
