Le Lufthansa Group has just announced that it will continue suspend a large part of its links to the Middle East. This ban applies not only to Lufthansa as well as Austrian, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings, Swiss and ITA Airways. The Group is now bringing forward the date of 13 August for a possible takeover.
In the Levant region, the company is extending the suspension of its flights to Beirut and Tel Aviv. But it is now adding thelines to Amman in Jordan and Erbil in Iraq. The temporary suspension of flights to Tehran is also continuing.
The group has decided to modify its flight routes in the region. From now on, aircraft bypass Iran and Iraq on routes to and from the Persian Gulf and Asia. This may lengthen the duration of some flights, but only to a negligible extent. All the group's airlines allowexchange or cancellation of tickets free of charge.
