A first attempt was made in 2006 in Courchevel with the opening of the Cheval Blanc. Building on this experience, the group has now created a hotel management entity: LVMH Hotels management. A partnership has also been formed with Egypt's Orascom, which is behind El Gouna and Taba Heights, two Egyptian seaside resorts.
Between now and 2012, the two partners plan to open two establishments: one on the island of Amoun, in the south of Egypt, and the other on the island of Sodah, in Oman. Two other locations are planned. The establishments will be built by Orascom and managed by LVMH. However, Bernard Arnault's group has no intention of displaying its name in front of them. Unless a brand is launched between now and their opening.
