A breathtaking view of Table Mountain, the Atlantic Ocean or the bustling streets of Cape Town from its rooftop: that's the promise of a new hotel for Mama Shelter. While the lifestyle brand also has a project in Casablanca, the brand founded by Serge Trigano is preparing to move to the other end of the African continent by 2025-2026. For a first in South Africa both for the hotel chain and for Ennismore, Accor's subsidiary dedicated to contemporary hotels, while another player backed by the French group, the real estate private equity platform Kasadais also behind the project.

We look forward to creating with Ennismore an exceptional lifestyle destination for business and leisure guests, as well as a must-visit destination for the local community that will help revitalise this well-known part of Cape Town's city centre." said Olivier Granet and David Damiba, Managing Partners and Co-CEOs of Kasada. The future Mama Shelter Cape Town is part of the transformation of an emblematic building in the city, City Park, which once housed the Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital, named in memory of the pioneer of heart transplants.

Overlooking Bree Street, one of the main streets in the Central Business District of the South African metropolis, this mixed-use project includes, in addition to the future Mama Shelter, offices, several restaurants and a large number of shops. The hotel will offer 127 rooms and 68 branded residences, as well as venues aimed directly at business travellers with 213 m² of meeting rooms and 380 m² of workspace.

However, the brand is also arriving in these southern latitudes with its festive spirit, materialising in a restaurant on the ground floor and another on the rooftop, a swimming pool and a terrace, as well as a major first for the brand. As part of this development, Mama Shelter Cape Town will be the first to offer a new concept, Mama Play. This is a large 742 m² games room, including a bowling alley, a karaoke bar and areas dedicated to catering and events.

More than a hotel, more than a restaurant or a bar, Mama Shelter is a place to live - a place to meet, eat, drink, sing and dream." said Cedric Gobilliard, brand director at Ennismore. With this new project, Mama Shelter seems to be a sure bet for export, with other hotels expected in Dubai, Casablanca and Los Angelesin addition to the opening of the Mama Shelter Nice next June.
