Bernadette Willemin

What arguments do you use to convince your potential customers of the Seychelles' strengths?

Bernadette Willemin - First of all, with an average temperature of 29°C, you can travel to the Seychelles all year round. Then I'd say that it's practically a close destination to Europe, with no time difference. It's also a socially and politically stable destination. But above all, we emphasise the variety and diversity of the islands, all the things you can do there and also the warmth and quality of the Seychellois welcome.

What are the main nationalities of your corporate customers?

B. W. - At 70 %, these are European customers, multinationals in the automotive, insurance, laboratory, pharmaceutical and petrochemical sectors. But we also have an increasing number of customers from South Africa and India.

What is the ideal group size?

B. W. - These are... human-sized groups of 50 to 80 people. They generally stay three to five nights.

Are the Seychelles properly equipped in terms of hotels?

B. W. - We offer 11,300 beds. But as far as corporate tourism is concerned, we tend to confine ourselves to the islands of Mahé and Praslin. That's where the biggest resorts are. Even though Hilton has set up on Silhouette and Beachcomber on Sainte-Anne. These are both islands very close to Mahé.
