The new Meetings Imagined concept launched on Monday 13 January by Marriott Hotels puts the purpose of the meeting at the centre of its thinking. Drawing on its experience in the Meetings sector, the hotel operator has scrutinised the 40,000 meetings organised each year at its US locations, to identify seven categories according to their purpose: celebrate, decide, train, develop ideas, network, produce and promote.
"Where others focus on logistics, Marriott is reinventing the entire next-generation guest experience with the innovative Meetings Imagined concept, which takes a more sophisticated approach based on objectives and results," summarises Paul Cahill, Executive Vice President, Brand Management, Marriott Hotels.
The new Internet platform, which is already up and running in four European establishments - in London, Munich, Amsterdam and now Paris - offers advice for every type of meeting, and highlights the best ideas to 'inspire' event organisers to put participants at ease, define the best choice of menu, or identify the right music. What's more, Marriott is going even further by combining the Meetings Imagined project with other innovations launched by the hotelier, in particular mobile check-in and the Red Coat Direct application, which enables real-time interaction with hotel staff, even before the meeting. Until the end of 2015 and the arrival of the Greatroom, a lobby open non-stop for relaxation or work, with a 24-hour catering service and full access to technology, including Wi-Fi and power sockets.
