Melia on its way to Asia

The Spanish group Melia Hotels International is continuing its expansion in Asia with the opening of two establishments in China and Vietnam.

Putting its 2012-2014 strategic plan into practice, Melia Hotels International is continuing to expand internationally, and in Asia in particular. The Spanish group currently operates in Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi and four hotels in Indonesia, and is preparing to open three new hotels in this fast-growing region. The first, a 150-room resort including The Level executive floor, will open at the end of 2012 in Danang, one of Vietnam's leading seaside and cultural resorts. The second, in X'ian, another city with a UNESCO heritage site, but this time in China, will have a more business focus, with 419 rooms, VIP service and a convention centre. It is due to open in 2013. A new hotel in Indonesia, in Surabaya, is also due to open shortly.
