Ahead of one of the year's flagship openings, scheduled for October at the luxurious Fifth Avenue, New York has seen the arrival of a new voco hotel close to LaGuardia airport, in the Flushing district. This is the fourth hotel under the contemporary brand of the IHG group, le voco Fiorello - LaGuardia East offers 114 rooms to travellers arriving or departing from this domestic hub, as well as a lively bar in its lobby, Achille's Lounge. And all this while awaiting the addition of a rooftop restaurant with a view of Manhattan in the distance. At the same time, the British group has also just inaugurated the avid hotel Brooklyn - Dyker Heights, the first hotel in New York under its mid-range brand, offering 76 rooms to travellers passing through Brooklyn.
Like IHG, the Hilton group is also very active in New York, with almost 2,000 rooms in the pipeline in the city. As part of this new phase of growth in this key metropolis, the American hotelier is targeting the epicentre of its activity, the Times Square district. That's where the world's first hotel was opened this summer, its new lifestyle brand Tempo by Hilton in an attractive new venue on the corner of Broadway and 47th Street: the TSX Broadway tower. With its LED-covered façade, this venue, which is still in the opening phase, is preparing to revisit the foundations of the former Palace Theatre to turn it into a new temple of American-style entertainment. The showpiece of this 46-storey building, which houses the 661 rooms of the Tempo hotel, is its outdoor stage - the I.C.O.N. - where shows can be seen directly over Times Square.

Having already appeared in New York's Chelsea district, this other of the American group's new brands has just completed its second opening in the city, a stone's throw from the Broadway theatres, close to the 47e street. From the 1920s to the 2020s: the hotel's design leaps over the century, blending past and present in its interiors as well as in its 400 rooms accessible via digital keys and equipped with Smart Room technology for controlling lighting and temperature.
Above all, in line with the Motto conceptThey offer great flexibility of use in a compact, maximised epsace. Rooms that offer a multitude of sleeping arrangements - from a standard bed to a bed that folds away into the wall or a large bunk bed with a twin bed above - and which, for groups of friends or families, can be interconnected. Guests can meet up in the lively communal areas, complete with a diner-style restaurant, The Alderman.
Next November, Hilton to continue its expansion in Times Square with a combo on 48th Street encompassing a long-stay Home2 Suites and a mid-range Hampton Inn by Hilton. But New York expects even more a new palace on its most famous thoroughfarethe 5e Avenue. Located on the corner of 28e The aptly-named Fifth Avenue Hotel revisits a century-old building and adds a new 24-storey tower to create a bohemian-style hotel with 153 rooms and suites designed by Martin Brudnizki.
A future member of Leading Hotels, the sophisticated establishment promises its guests an upmarket gastronomic experience with the Café Carmellini and The Portrait cocktail bar. But the Fith Avenue Hotel is also the place to be for meetings and intimate dinners for up to 20 people, such as the chic events. Decorated with chandeliers, with its windows looking directly onto 5th Avenue, the Mansion Ballroom can accommodate up to 200 people under its high ceilings. Opening expected on 16 October.
