Nobu Hotels: a fusion concept

We already knew that luxury hotels have a taste for star chefs, willingly entrusting the supervision of their kitchens to Alain Ducasse, Joël Robuchon and others. Nobu Hotel is a two-in-one affair, combining the aura of celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa, a pioneer of Asian fusion cuisine, with the seductive power of exclusive boutique hotels. The cast is rounded off by the Rockwell Group on the design side and Robert de Niro on the glamour side, an old friend of the Japanese chef and shareholder in Nobu Hospitality.

The Nobu Hotel collection, launched in 2013 in Las Vegas with a property housed in one of the six towers of the Casears Palace complex, is set for rapid expansion. By the end of the year, two establishments are expected in Manila and Riyadh, the latter already being a member of Leading Hotels of the World. Two new addresses are on the menu for 2016, in the fashionable districts of West Loop in Chicago and Shoreditch in London. Lastly, before other probable openings, Nobu Hotel will be reproducing in Miami Beach a recipe that has proved successful in Las Vegas with a "hotel within a hotel" inserted within the legendary Eden Roc resort.
