AccorHotels unveils its first Orient Express

The first Orient Express hotel, the hotel version of the legendary luxury trains launched by AccorHotels, will open in Bangkok in 2019.

AccorHotels has just unveiled its first Orient Express hotel project since the hotel group and SNCF reached an agreement in 2017, a partnership to develop this new prestige brand. Housed in the King Power Mahanakhon tower, Bangkok's tallest building and recognisable by its pixelated look, Orient Express Mahanakhon Bangkok will offer 154 rooms, including nine suites and two penthouses, a wellness floor with outdoor pool, whirlpool and spa, topped by a spectacular panoramic platform and rooftop bar.

Like the legendary train, the Orient Express Mahanakhon Bangkok will boast a prestigious decor and excellent cuisine. Interior designer Tristan Auer has been commissioned to re-imagine a modern skyscraper in a dynamic metropolis, Art Deco interiors and the plant motifs of the original Orient Express carriages. In terms of dining, the hotel will offer two emblematic venues: a contemporary restaurant and cocktail bar, Mott 32, and Mahanathi, created by David Thompson, known for his multi-award-winning Asian restaurants such as Nahm in London and Aaharn in Hong Kong.
