That was all it took for Delta Air Lines announces the reopening of flights to France. Confirmation from the French government that American visitors will once again be able to stay in France from 9 June is seen as excellent news by Delta's management.
Passengers simply need to present proof of full vaccination with a vaccine approved by the European Medicines Agency. This must be accompanied by a negative covid test less than 72 hours old for a PCR test and less than 48 hours old for an antigenic test.
At the moment, Delta serves Paris-CDG twice a day from Atlanta, once a day from New York-JFK and three times a week from Detroit.. From 7 Julythe carrier adds three weekly frequencies from Minneapolis/St. Paul. Le 5 August follow daily flights from Boston.
The Mediterranean in the spotlight
More good news: Nice airport will once again benefit from its symbolic route to Manhattan. From 8th July three weekly frequencies from JFK to the Côte d'Azur airport. With this increase in power, the Air France-Delta pairing (joint venture on the North Atlantic) becomes the largest on the France/US route. According to Detla, the two companies offer nine times more capacity than its biggest competitor in France.
Delta is also expanding its programme on the rest of the European Union. In July, the company resumed routes on Athens-Atlanta, Dubrovnik-New York and Venice-New York. Rome-New York will move to daily service at the same time. In August, Delta Air Lines will launch on Barcelona-Atlanta, Barcelona-New York and Venice-Atlanta.
Finally, the company hopes to sign a codeshare agreement with AirBaltic to cover around twenty routes between the United States and the Baltic States, via Paris and Amsterdam in particular. There are currently no services between these countries.
