According to the Apeca study, of the 131 SMEs that said they use the card to pay for purchases, only 85 % associate a generic card name with it. Most of the companies reported using only one type of card. Only 4 % of them use two cards, generally a fuel card combined with a bank card. In fact, the card is most commonly used to pay for the following expenses: hotels and restaurants, public transport, fuel and car hire. In SMEs, therefore, the card is the main means of payment for purchases related to employee mobility.
