Past of Madrid in Turin during the summer, Cristiano Ronaldo is already looking towards Parisin the longer term. This time, it's not about football, but the hotel business, where the Portuguese superstar has already proved his worth. An ambassador for the Lusitanian group Pestana - and a 50% economic partner in the eponymous brand - 'CR7' already has two hotels to his name, in Lisbon and Funchal, his birthplace. Other projects are underway, notably in New York.
With 210 rooms, the hotel Pestana CR7 Paris is set to become the biggest 'carrier' in this new network. Located on the left bank of the Seine, between the Gare de Lyon and the Gare d'Austerlitz, the facility will be supported by an investment of €60 million.
The inauguration of this new lifestyle address, scheduled for 2021could mark a strategic shift for the Pestana group, enabling it to make its Paris debut. Asked back in 2016 about his ambitions for Paris, Pestana's Director of Development José Roquette explained: " CR7 could open doors for us there. Because our growth strategy involves major cities" . With the official launch of this project in mid-September, José Roquette now explains: " It is a great honour to see the Pestana CR7 Lifestyle Hotels brand establish itself in one of the world's leading tourist destinations".
