As part of the inauguration of the coworking from Crowne Plaza Paris Républiques hotel chain, the IHG Group questioned 2,000 French full-time workers about their expectations in terms of flexible working. It turns out that 70% of the employees surveyed " aspire to a wider choice of flexible working environments "In addition to the above, some people (60% and 41%) would be more productive if they had the opportunity to work outside their usual work environment. Location (60%), facilities (52%), privacy (29%), cost (17%) and the choice of food and drink (17%) were among the most important criteria for choosing this flexible workplace.
A wide choice of spaces for multiple uses
Overlooking the Place de la République, this vast site named Plaza Workspace has been refurbished by design firm Conrad + Partners to create a number of spaces where residents and visitors alike can work and meet external clients. Equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi and sockets in the tables for electronic equipment, access to the space is free, although users can also enjoy a bar and a range of light meals. The menu has also been revamped to reflect the current healthy trend. " The choice of colours and materials has been designed to make the premises welcoming, to create different acoustics and atmospheres to suit multiple uses and the expectations of users at different times of the day." explains one of the architects. Plaza Workspace has a booth for discreet telephoning, solo tablets, tables for two more isolated, or for 4 to 12 people. Not forgetting the StudioThis is a coworking lounge for 10 to 20 people, which can be hired out in its entirety (€150/hour) from 7.30am to 1am for meetings, cocktails, etc.
Opening up to the outside world to attract future customers to the chain
" We hope that these new coworking users will become future customers, with Crowne Plaza in their minds when they travel in France or abroad." says Libby Escolme, the chain's global vice-president, who was in Paris last September for the inauguration of the Plaza Workspace.
