Every year, PortAventura Business & Events hosts events of different types and from different sectors. The managers of the complex look back on the year 2023 with great enthusiasm and great prospects. In fact, the first half of the year was marked by a increase of 42% in confirmed events at the convention centre compared to the same period last year. PortAventura Business & Events is now approaching the 200 eventsThe Group expects to achieve overall growth of around 16 % by the end of the year, compared with 2022. The majority of requests for events come from Spanish customers (75 %), ahead of British and French customers, who remain the main international markets. As for the participants in these events, the majority of the audience is international (61%), with Spanish guests accounting for 39%. The main sectors of activity remain IT, banking, consulting and insurance, industry, transport and logistics, e-sports and pharmaceuticals.
Events at the PortAventura Convention Centre in recent months have included XIIIth National Congress of the Bar. Held in May, the event brought together more than 1,500 experts in the unique spaces of PortAventura Business & Events, where more than 60 training sessions, four deliberative sessions and three plenary conferences were held, as well as an exhibition area. Other highlights included the International Conference on Coupled Electron-Proton Transfer (PCET 2023) hosted over 30 debates and exhibitions on the latest advances in research in this field, the 10th Rencontre de FedeFarmawhich brought together over 2,000 members and industry professionals, and the eLaLiga Santander Cup TournamentThe event, held for the first time at PortAventura World, was attended by over 500 people, with eight eLaLiga clubs taking part in the competitions.
Over the coming months, PortAventura Business & Events will be hosting other major events, including the FEICA congress, EXPO and the European Adhesives Conference. The latter will be held at the convention centre from 13 to 15 September, and will bring together 600 industry professionals to discuss global challenges such as sustainable growth, new technologies and innovation to create long-term growth opportunities.
