From 27 October, KLM will extend its transatlantic network with a direct non-stop flight betweenAmsterdam-Schiphol (AMS) and Portland, Oregon (PDX). The company will be offering three direct flights a week (Tuesday, Friday and Sunday) by Boeing 787-9.
In the cabin, passengers can choose between 30 seats in World Business Class, 21 seats in Premium Comfort Class and 224 seats in Economy Class. From the 2025 summer seasonAir France-KLM plans to increase frequency to five rotations a week.
Portland is KLM's 21st direct destination in North America. This de facto link replaces the flight previously operated by Delta Air Lines on the same route. From Paristhe fastest route is via Salt Lake City with Delta.
The first Airbus A321neo on European routes
What's more, KLM announces the entry into service of its latest aircraft, the Airbus A321neo from mid-September. The aircraft will begin its first flights to Berlin, Copenhagen and Stockholm. It is then planned on lines to Paris-CDG, Prague and Vienna. KLM will be adding four A321neo aircraft to its fleet before the end of the year.
The aircraft is more fuel-efficient, saving more than 20% compared with a Boeing 737. It also offers greater passenger comfort. On board, in addition to a quieter cabin, each seat is now equipped with a USB socket and a mobile phone holder.
