Up until now, Radisson's budget and design hotels have been a little apart from the rest of its brand portfolio. prizeotel are fully integrated into the hotel group's offering. A transition symbolised by a change of name, from prizeotel to Prize by Radisson. This link-up with the Group should result in a new impetus for development. "This change and the expansion of Prize by Radisson is an important step in extending the global reach of the brand and increasing its appeal to our international guests and owners."said Elie Younes, Executive VP and Global Development Director of Radisson Hotel Group.
" The rebranding of prizeotel as Prize by Radisson marks a turning point in our growth strategy" confirms Connor Ryterski, General Manager of Prize by Radisson. Launched in Bremen in 2009 by German hotelier Marco Nussbaum and the designer Karim RashidPrize by Radisson, which was founded in Germany and gradually acquired by Radisson between 2016 and 2019, now has around 15 hotels, most of them in its home country, in addition to three establishments outside Germany, in Antwerp, Berne and Vienna. A new country, Poland, will be added to this list in 2026, with a 126-room hotel currently under construction in the heart of Gdansk, along the Motlawa river.
As a precursor to this desire to play on this lifestyle offer at affordable prices in the spirit of the times, both design and CSR-oriented, Radisson announced in 2023 its ambition to " more than double the current portfolio in the next five years" said Elie Younes at the time. The announced rebranding and the affiliation of prizeotel with the recognised Radisson name should boost the brand's visibility with owners and, consequently, accelerate its establishment in other key destinations.
Among the developments already planned, new Prize by Radisson hotels are expected in Germany, with a 170-room hotel in the centre of Osnabrück in 2025, before the brand's arrival in Berlin in 2027in the Prenzlauer Berg district. Housed in a new multi-use complex, the Prize by Radisson Berlin City will have 315 rooms, with lively communal areas on the top floor and a coworking space overlooking the city.
