Mixed results for Paris Region trade fairs

According to the new barometer published by the Paris Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry, trade fair activity is on the up, but has not yet caught up with pre-crisis volumes.

As it does every quarter, the Paris Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI Paris Île-de-France) takes stock of the dynamic trade fair scene in the Paris Region, examining the 24 main exhibition venues. The new barometer, published this week, shows mixed results. Not least because, in contrast to the first two quarters, business is lower than it was before the health crisis.

Type of salon Change in net surface area occupied by stands Number of exhibitors Number of visitors
All trade fairs - 5 % - 0.9 % - 8.7 %
Trade shows - 5.8 % - 1 % - 10.6 %
Trade fairs for the general public - 2.7 % - 0.5 % - 6.7 %

Even so, the authors of the study point to a further increase in activity compared with the previous session. Whether we are talking about the number of exhibitors (+18.3 %), the net surface area occupied by stands (13.5 %) or visitor numbers (8 %), trade shows did indeed progress during the 3e quarter.

Type of salon Change in net surface area occupied by stands Number of exhibitors Number of visitors
All trade fairs + 8.7 % + 15.8 % + 6.7 %
Trade shows + 13.5 % + 18.3 % + 8 %
Trade fairs for the general public - 1.5 % 0 % + 5.4 %

However, momentum remains lower than at the start of the year. However, the authors of the barometer point out that "in the previous two quarters, Paris Region trade shows benefited from the dynamism of a number of key events. The 3rd quarter of 2025 did not benefit from such events".
