The IFTM Top Resa 2023 event was presented in mid-September in Paris

It is both the meeting point for the world of travel and its barometer: the world's biggest travel event. IFTM Top Resa 2023 is approaching, and will provide valuable insights into the state of the sector, its dynamics, and its prospects for the coming months and beyond. If this year's theme is anything to go by, "Challenges and resilienceThe ecosystem is still reeling from the aftermath of the health crisis, and needs to set a new course after too many months of sailing by sight. Like a symbol, Laurence Gaborieau met the press on the Theo, a boat that has dropped anchor on the Seine, not far from the Pont de l'Alma. The director of IFTM Top Resa sums it up: "From tumultuous times to equally turbulent times, the travel industry faces countless challenges, be they digital, environmental or attractiveness. But this crisis has also paved the way for new opportunities and an in-depth analysis of how to reinvent the future of travel.".

"We are not yet at 2019 levels. However, we are well ahead of last year, with a gain of more than a hundred additional destinations," says Laurence Gaborieau (left).

Key destinations make a comeback

If the figures for the forthcoming event are anything to go by - and they're still only partial - this 45th edition marks a " strong comeback "of the IFTM Top Resa. "We're in the process of preparing a very fine edition."says Laurence Gaborieau. "We are not yet at 2019 levels. On the other hand, we are well ahead of last year, with a gain of more than a hundred additional destinations.". Among the countries that will be visiting Porte de Versailles at the beginning of October, we can look forward to the return of major players such as Brazil, the Ivory Coast, l'AlgeriaCosta Rica and India. The only downside for the show's management was the relatively low profile of the Middle East region, despite its dynamic presence on the international tourism scene. Another notable comeback, linked of course to the complete reopening of borders, is theAsia PacificThe exhibition will more than double in size compared to 2022.

within an easily identifiable area

MICE in the spotlight

This IFTM Top Resa 2023 will once again be the not-to-be-missed event of the autumn. All the more so as the new management team has decided to add another string to its bow, by granting a an unprecedented role for MICE. Six conferences will be devoted to the sector, and an all-new Meetings & Events Barometer made with Kactus will be presented for the first time. The aim is to make it an annual fixture at the show. In addition, a brand new MICE Village will even appear alongside the Destination France - and not far from the Business Club whose numbers are stable compared to 2022. It will join the areas created at the previous edition, in particular the zones devoted to Conversations, Responsible Tourism and the Attractiveness Village.
