According to the latest updates on the website of the French Embassy in Beijing, new measures have been introduced by the French government for travellers arriving from China.
PCR test from China
From 5 January 2023 (applicable to aircraft leaving China on 4 January 2023)All passengers must present the following to the airline on which he was travelling to France, before embarking, in addition to a negative PCR test result, a declaration on honour attesting :
- He or she has no symptoms of covid-19 infection;
- That he/she has no knowledge of having been in contact with a confirmed case of covid-19 in the fourteen days preceding the flight;
- If they are aged eleven or over, they must agree to a test being carried out on arrival in France. On this basis, random tests are carried out on arrival in France.
- That they undertake to remain contactable for a maximum of 15 days after their arrival in France and, if the result of the test carried out on arrival in France concludes that they are contaminated by covid-19, to respect a voluntary isolation period of seven days after their arrival in mainland France and, if they are aged eleven or over, to carry out a new test at the end of this seven-day period.
The declaration on honour is made available to passengers by airlines.. It is also available on the website the embassy.
Boarding will be denied to passengers who do not present the documents listed below. above (test result and declaration on honour).
Note that the it is compulsory to wear a mask when flying throughout the journey.
More flexibility on the Chinese side
From his side, the website of the Chinese Embassy in France, lists the new conditions for entering China from 8 January 2023.
Once you have obtained a visa - tourist visas are still not issued - you will need to apply for one. Travellers of all nationalities wishing to travel to China by air must undergo a PCR test within 48 hours of boarding the plane.. All legitimate health establishments are acceptable. Anyone who tests positive cannot enter China.
After obtaining a negative result,travellers no longer need to ask for a health QR code at the Chinese embassy or consulate in France. However, they must complete a customs declaration form via the WeChat applicationby scanning a QR code or via the website(https://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cn/htdeclweb/home/pages/healthDeclare/declare.html) before boarding.
When entering China, travellers no longer have to undergo a PCR test, or be placed in quarantine if their customs declaration and temperature are in order.
There are currently six flights a week between France and China.. Three by Air France (two flights a week to Shanghai, one flight a week to Beijing) andone flight a week for Air China, China Eastern and China Southern.
