The new " Icelandair Saga Lounge "has opened its doors. It now awaits business travellers on the top floor of theKeflavík airportthe Icelandic airline's hub. This new business travel spot occupies a total surface area of 1400 m². Icelandair has therefore doubled the amount of space dedicated to business travellers visiting Icelandor passing through Keflavík airport on their transatlantic journey.

The decor of this new lounge, by local interior designers Eggert Ketilsson and Stígur Steinþórsson, logically plays the Nordic elegance card. The Saga Lounge features a number of nods to Icelandic culture, including a life-size replica of an elfstone, the cornerstone of local mythology. And that's not all: while many airlines highlight the view of the runways offered from their respective lounges, Icelandair takes things a step further: from the Saga Lounge, business travellers can also admire the Snæfellsjökull glacierabout a hundred kilometres from the airport...
The inauguration of this new business lounge reflects the airline's move upmarket, particularly in the face of low-cost competition in its traditional market: the transatlantic route. This new infrastructure should help to keep business travellers within its fold, and reaffirm its added value compared with low-cost carriers.
