With just under 500 rooms, a futuristic event space for up to 1,000 participants and an ideal location not far from Central Station, the Scandic Göteborg Central has everything it takes to become the new Scandic Göteborg. one of Northern Europe's leading venues for corporate events at its opening in second quarter 2022. Especially as it is part of the largest urban renewal project in Scandinavia, in the Älvstaden district.
This ambitious project aims to double the size of the city centre of Sweden's second largest metropolis, with a natural emphasis on sustainability, as Northern Europe is obliged to do. In fact, the future hotel building will be LEED Platinum certified and all bedding, textiles and TVs will be eco-labelled. In addition, the design of the venue is based on the idea of circular design, with the interior of the hotel able to be disassembled, reused and recycled when its décor falls into disuse.
But visitors will undoubtedly be particularly struck by the façade of the future hotel, all glass and referring to the containers unloaded in the Swedish port. Once through the door, a vast lobby welcomes travellers, with large sofas, large coworking tables and lively bar and restaurant areas.

With a ceiling height of six metres, a capacity of up to 1,000 guests and a flexible design with walls that can be easily moved, the venue can be used for all types of event. Another of the hotel's assets is its roof terrace on the 14th floor, heralded as one of the best views of the city. A urban rooftop where the great green will have its place since it will be the highest garden in the city, with luxuriant plants and large trees transported there by helicopter. It will be a lively place all year round, as some parts of the terrace will be protected from the elements.
