The resumption of flights between Paris and Singapore began in mid-July for Singapore Airlines. Since last month, the carrier is once again landing on the tarmac at Roissy Charles-de-Gaulle, with two frequencies per week using Airbus A350-900XWB aircraft.. The company had suspended its flights since March as the pandemic spread to Asia and Europe.
All in all, seven European cities will be reconnected to Singapore from September onwardsAmsterdam, Copenhagen, Frankfurt, London Heathrow, Milan Malpensa, Paris CDG and Zurich.
Singapore Airlines had originally planned flights to eight European cities. In the end, it decided to suspend the extension of its flight from Milan to Barcelona, probably in response to the increase in cases of COVID in the Catalan capital.
All European cities are served by Airbus A350 aircraft offering all classes of service. While Amsterdam, Paris and Zurich each enjoy three weekly flights, Frankfurt is served by five weekly flights and London Heathrow daily. Copenhagen and Milan are served by one flight a week.
This European timetable will remain unchanged until the end of November, according to the preliminary programme published by the company on 4 August. But it is possible that the company will refine its network further to better match demand.
For connecting passengers, Singapore Airlines again offers three Australian cities (Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney), two New Zealand cities (Auckland and Christchurch) as well as flights to Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Osaka Kansai, Seoul, Shanghai-Pudong and Taipei. Silk Air, SIA's regional subsidiary, also operates flights to Cebu, Chongqing, Medan, Phnom Penh and Kuala Lumpur.
Other airlines from South East Asia to Europe, Malaysia Airlines and Philippine Airlines resume services to London Heathrow. MAS serves London-Kuala Lumpur once a week (three flights from 3 September), as does Philippines Airlines, which flies to Heathrow once a week.
