So it is in Suwon, a high-tech industrial centre and university hub, that Aloft will be taking its first steps in South Korea, around sixty kilometres from Incheon international airport and around 30 km from the capital, Seoul. The establishment is due to open its doors in October 2014, and will offer 120 rooms, including six suites. More than 400 m² will be dedicated to meetings. The Aloft Suwon hotel will also feature a fitness centre and an extensive spa. "Starwood has maintained a long-term presence in South Korea since the opening of the Westin Chosun Busan, but this contract marks a decisive step in our global growth strategy to spread the Aloft brand," says Stephen Ho, head of Starwood Hotels & Resorts for Asia Pacific.
