It's going to be a dark day today Friday 13 September for travel in Paris and the Ile-de-France region. According to forecasts published by RATP, traffic will be disrupted on the vast majority of metro lines. Only automatic lines (1 and 14) should work, but with a logical risk of saturation. As for lines 4, 7, 8 and 9they will only operate during rush hourwith disrupted traffic and reduced journey times. RATP reckons on 1 in 3 for the lines 4, 7 and 8 - which operates only between Créteil Pointe du Lac and Reuilly-Diderot - and 1 in 4 trains for the line 9which will only run between Pont de Sèvres and Franklin-Roosevelt and between Nation and Mairie de Montreuil.
Le RER traffic will also be extremely disrupted, with traffic limited to peak times (6.30-9.30am / 5pm-8pm). RATP also plans to 1 bus in 3 throughout the network, and a tramway out of three during rush hour on most lines. SNCF Transilien lines will not be affected by the strike, but could still be affected.
