SNCF and Air France strikes: disruption expected on 4 May

A second consecutive day of strikes is on the cards for both Air France and SNCF on 4 May. The disruption will be greater than on the previous day at the airline, which plans to operate 75% of its flight schedule.

The strike on 4 May led to the cancellation of one TGV in 2 and 2 Intercités in 3.

Friday 4 May 2018 is marked by a new day of mobilisation within the SNCF. The strike will result incancellation of one TGV in 2and 2 Intercités out of 3. Internationally, 4 out of 5 trains should be running on Friday on the Eurostar network, compared with 2 out of 5 on Lyria. Traffic on the Thalys network, on the other hand, will be almost normal.

As for Air FranceThe disruptions on 4 May were more severe than on the previous day, with a higher number of pilots on strike (21.5%). The airline plans to operate 75 % of its flight schedule:

  • 80 % of its long-haul flights;
  • 65 % of its medium-haul flights to and from Paris-Charles de Gaulle ;
  • 80 % of its short-haul flights, Paris-Orly and the provinces.
