Time is no object: travel professionals, who by definition have more experience of airports than the average traveller, are nevertheless prone to stress during their business trips. Booking.com, which is gaining ground in the business travel community, has devoted a study to these stress factors, which are widespread among business travellers. According to the study, 93% of travellers surveyed by the booking website said they were experiencing stress at some point during their trip. " Business travel has many positive aspects, such as discovering new cultures, broadening horizons and meeting colleagues face-to-face, but the logistical aspect can become a burden for travellers. "says Ripsy Bandourian, Director of Development at Booking.com Business. " Delays and queues at the airport, local accommodation, lack of personal time and leaving the comforts of home behind can all add unnecessary stress to a trip. ".
Unsurprisingly, the fear of missing a flight or train tops the list of travellers' anxieties (36%). More surprisingly, the language barrier ranks second (26%), ex aequo with lost luggage (26%). The airport quite logically crystallises the worries associated with business travel: 47% of those surveyed said they were annoyed by delays and cancellations, ahead of jet lag (35 %) and queues for security checks (34 %). The study published by Booking also notes that " German business travellers complained the most about queues for checks (42 %), while the Chinese were more understanding about the need for them. In fact, only 1 in 5 (20 %) named it as their least favourite aspect of international business travel. ".
