Swiss has decided to capitalise on a trend that benefits business travellers. The company will offer in-flight wi-fi to its passengers from 2 August. And unlike the carriers who have also adopted a "generous" stance towards their connected customers - notably Turkish Airlines and Singapore Airlines -Swiss does not make this free of charge conditional on subscribing to its loyalty programme. All long-haul flights and all classes of travel are covered by free in-flight Internet access. It should be noted, however, that the free access only applies to messaging applications such as WhatsApp or Messengerbut Swiss has no time or data limits. Access to streaming videos has been restricted to avoid any excess...
In addition to this 'basic' connectivity, Swiss offers two complementary passes paying to surf the Internet, check your e-mail and social networks. the offer "Wi-Fi 4 Hours 25 francs (26 euros) for 4 hours, and "Wi-Fi Premium at 35 francs (36.5 euros) for the duration of the flight. This access will be offered free of charge to First Class passengers and members of the HON Circle.

"This new WIFI service is a major step forward"says Tamur Goudarzi Pour, Chief Commercial Officer at Swiss. "Free, unlimited access to instant messaging enables our passengers to stay in touch with their loved ones and business partners for the duration of the flight. Complementary passes allow passengers to surf the Internet, consult their e-mail and social networks without restriction. Our passengers will be able to choose how they want to stay connected to the world without restriction during their SWISS long-haul flights," continues Tamur Goudarzi..
