"Like many hotels in Switzerland, the owner and management have decided that the hotel will join the Starling Hotels group of independent hotels in the region. What's more, a survey of our customers showed that the brand is of little importance to them; what counts for them is the quality of the service, amenities and facilities," explains Tania Langhabel, Deputy General Manager.
This change of identity is the fruit of an analysis carried out over the last two years. "Going beyond the recommendations of the Crowne Plaza brand, the hotel's staff and management made every effort in early 2009 to obtain ISO 9001 (quality) and 14001 (environment) certifications. The room renovation programme will also be completed in January 2011. This illustrates our interactivity with our customers and our desire for continuous improvement to meet their requirements," says Tania Langhabel. To replace membership of the IHG loyalty programme, management has approached the airlines so that customers can benefit from miles when they stay at Starling Geneva. A communication plan is being put in place around the new identity.
