United Airlines: 10% of additional capacity between Europe and the United States in 2023

American carrier United Airlines has just unveiled its 2023 summer schedule on the transatlantic route. The airline will open six new routes in Europe and launch a second daily flight between Paris CDG and Washington DC.

Seat capacity up 10% on the transatlantic route and even 30% compared to 2019. This is what United Airlines for the 2023 summer season, which starts at the end of March.

The company's boosted traffic on the North Atlantic. This is due to the 'catch-up' effect following the closure of borders for two years. But also because of the strong dollar - especially against the Euro and the Pound Sterling. The rise in the dollar is stimulating Americans' desire to travel to Europe. These two factors should offset the risks of recession experts on both sides of the Atlantic are now predicting.

The carrier will launch six new routes to the old continent. United also to increase frequencies to London Heathrow and Paris CDG.

United is adding Malaga and Stockholm to its network. The airline is also opening four new routes from Barcelona, Berlin, Rome and Shannon in its 2023 summer schedule. Malaga and Stockholm will benefit from a route to the airline's hub in Newark/New York. There will be three weekly flights to Malaga and one daily flight to Stockholm.

Confirmation for Nice-Newark and the second daily CDG-Washington IAD flight

With regard to the new routes, United will offer a daily flight from Barcelona and Shannon to Chicago O'Harea daily frequency on Rome Fiumicino-San Francisco as well as Berlin BBI in Washington. Next summer, 14 European cities will be linked to the Chicago hub and 7 to San Francisco. Newark has the largest number of routes to Europe with 28 destinations by summer 2023 (including 10 seasonal destinations). The airline has also confirmed that it will be flying again between Nice and Newark from May 2023..

United is also increasing the number of its flights from London Heathrow and Paris CDG. In London, the carrier will launch a second daily flight to Los Angeles, bringing the total number of daily departures to 23. In Paris, United will operate a second daily flight to Washington DC with a Boeing 787-8.... The carrier will be operating this winter from CDG four daily flights to Chicago O-Hare, Newark, San Francisco and Washington DC.

All the new flights will enter service next May.
