International business recovers slowly
For Paris Airport and over the month of June 2021 :
- The intercontinental traffic (including Overseas) is up on 2020 (+ 783,368 passengers, or 25.6 % on the June 2019 level). Growth has affected every geographical cluster. L'Africa posts best result with traffic representing 38.5% of the June 2019 level). It is followed by Middle East with a traffic level of 26.1% for June 2019. Africa has the largest market share in passenger traffic at 13.6%.
- L'Latin America in June 2021 will have a passenger volume equivalent to 17.1% of what it was in June 2019 and theNorth America to 16.7 %.
- No surprise there, Asia-Pacific posted the worst performance with a level of traffic equivalent to only 7% of its June 2019 level. Its market share fell to 1.4% of total passenger volume.
- Traffic to theEurope (outside France) is up 911,315 passengers on 2020. However, passenger volume is only 25.3% of what it was in June 2019.
- On the Mainland France, traffic is gradually approaching the 50% mark. With 490,099 more passengers than in June 2020, June 2021 represents 47.4% of the June 2019 volume. On the overseas departments, regions and communitiesParis turned in the best performance. June 2021 already represents 56.2% of the passenger volume of June 2019.
Transfer passengers down 40.4%
ADP Group reports that the number of connecting passengers totalled 324,506 passengers, an increase of 252,547 passengers. i.e. 31.1 % of the June 2019 level. The correspondence rate was 21.9 %, down 0.5 points.
Over the first half of the year, traffic at Paris Airport fell by 45.7 % to 10.7 million passengers, 20.5 % below the previous year's level. over the same period in 2019.The number of transfer passengers stood at 1.458 million, down 40.4% on the first half of 2020.
