A Virgin Hotels project in Edinburgh

The hotel group founded by Richard Branson has announced its arrival in Edinburgh in 2020, in a historic building in the heart of the old city.

Virgin Hotels, the luxury lifestyle brand of the group founded by Richard Branson, is to take its first steps outside the United States in Edinburgh. Expected in 2020, just off the Royal Mile, in the heart of the UNESCO-listed Old Town, the 225-room and suite hotel will be housed in the India Buildings buildingThe Virgin Hotel is a group of buildings constructed in 1864 by architect David Cousins in the Scottish baronial style. The architecture of the site will be respected, while bringing the brand's own sophistication, notably in the bars and restaurants, including the Commons Club, the emblematic Virgin Hotels lifestyle venue. Numerous meeting spaces are also planned.
