This is a surprise in the expansion strategy of Vueling. The Spanish airline is launching a symbolic route: Paris Orly-London Heathrow.. La daily frequencyscheduled to start on 7 AprilIt will take off from Paris between 12.00 and 13.30 (with times varying from day to day), with an introductory fare of 35 euros for the luckiest customers. Flights from London Heathrow will leave within a period of between 14:00 and 15:30.
The return of a historic line
While this flight is new for the Spanish airline, it is not for Orly. For a very long time, Both Air France and British European Airways, the forerunner of British Airways, served this route..
By the 1980s, however, both airlines had transferred their flights to Roissy. There were still a few flights by airlines using the 5th freedom, such as Kenya Airways, Iran Air and Pakistan Airlines. In the 1990s, however, British Airways made a strong comeback. With its subsidiary Air Liberté, the airline operated up to 5 daily flights from Orly to Heathrow.
Vueling is already present on the Orly-London route with three to four flights a day to Gatwick airport.. In fact, its arrival at Heathrow with this daily flight to Orly and two daily flights to Barcelona is motivated by the strategy of the IAG group, in particular British Airways.
